DRNW skin type

For skin that is dry, resistant, non-pigmented and wrinkle-prone, one of the 16 Baumann skin types. Not sure which one you are? Take the Baumann test from the menu.

DRNW stands for Dry, Resistant, Non-Pigmented, Wrinkled skin. This Baumann skin type is defined by chronic dryness combined with a barrier that typically tolerates active ingredients better than sensitive skin types. “Non-pigmented” means this skin type is generally less prone to visible dark spots than pigmented types, while “Wrinkled” indicates a stronger tendency toward visible signs of aging such as fine lines, deeper wrinkles, texture changes, and loss of firmness over time. The most effective DRNW routines focus on restoring hydration first, then layering consistent anti-aging support, with strict daily sun protection to help prevent visible photoaging from worsening.

Common DRNW Skin Concerns

If you have DRNW skin, you may notice:

  • Persistent dryness, tightness, flaking, or rough texture
  • Dullness from dehydration and slower skin renewal
  • Fine lines and deeper wrinkles that appear more visible when skin is dry
  • Texture changes and a less smooth-looking complexion over time
  • Visible photoaging from cumulative sun exposure

How DRNW Skin Should Be Cared For

DRNW skin responds best to a hydration-first routine paired with consistent anti-aging support. Because this type is typically resistant, it can often tolerate corrective ingredients that support smoother-looking texture and visible firmness. The key is to address dryness so corrective steps feel comfortable and the skin barrier remains supported. Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen is essential for DRNW skin because UV exposure is a major driver of visible aging.

DRNW priority order: Hydrate & support the barrier → Support anti-aging → Protect daily with SPF.

DRNW Skin Care Strategy (Build Your Routine)

A well-designed DRNW routine typically follows these steps:

  1. Cleanse gently to remove impurities without stripping moisture.
  2. Hydrate with layers that improve comfort and reduce the look of dryness.
  3. Support the barrier with moisturizers that smooth the look of texture.
  4. Support anti-aging with treatments that improve the look of fine lines, wrinkles, and texture.
  5. Daily sunscreen to prevent visible photoaging and maintain results.
